Gringos, Bars & Tienda Cats

11/09/18 late blogging of our trip

North American Law Summit in Akumal, Mexico

On Wednesday, we arrived at Secrets resort and had lunch there at Seaside Grill next to the pool. Then we walked down the beach to the pueblo of Akumal so I could find Budha Gardens Spa (their spelling) where I had scheduled a massage for the next day. I was surprised to find during the conference that many of the attendees did not venture out to the pueblo, even though it was only about the distance of a block down the beach. We explored the pueblo of Akumal on foot, there are tourist shops, a yoga center, boat rentals and diving, restaurants and tiendas.

The conference then had a welcoming party and dinner. We ate with people we have met before at this conference. It's nice to see returning faces every year. Later, we had a nightcap at the Rendezvous lobby bar and got travel advice about Dresden from a German woman.
