Our Paris Trip

In May, we spent eleven days in Paris. We walked 98.90 miles and climbed Notre Dame, the Sacré-Coeur Basilica and the Arc de Triomphe.

I managed to distill it down to a slide show less than ten minutes. No easy feat since I took over a thousand photos.

It was a wonderful trip.

Barbershop Choir

Drove Mitch to Barbershop Choir practice tonight (he can't drive yet because of his broken leg). It's mostly old guys and I heard this exchange between three of them:

Guy 1: "Hi! How are you?"
Guy 2: "Top of the heap!"
Guy 1: "Well, it's good seeing you."
Guy 3: "You know what they say. Better to be seen than viewed."

They do a group massage before practice, too bad Mitch misses out because he doesn't stand with the broken leg for that.

Stabbing The Cat

One of the duties I had to take over since Mitch broke his leg is giving one of the cats subcutaneous fluids twice a day, due to kidney disease. It's a geriatric cat problem. We already had one cat die from the same condition last year. The things they can treat animals for these days!

Luckily, Mitch has her trained with treats to submit to this. I'm sure it bothers her more than it does me. I have to pull her skin out, jab the needle under, turn the IV bag on and hand her treats. And she wants her treats!

Give me treats!

Starting to Normalize

First real outing since Mitch's leg break was on Sunday. I'm still recovering from a virus so it was a little too much for me, but we got a change of scenery.

I was ok at the first stop, the Pickin' Circle that he is in, and some friends met us there.

Then I took him to Barbershop Choir rehearsal. He missed out on the group back rub since he sat in a front pew, but later the guys got him a chair in the choir box. I left him there and went for the first real grocery shop since he broke his leg (because I've been sick over 2 weeks).

Mitch is healing well, I think I can finally calm down. Hopefully I will be at full energy soon, too.
