I was at a resort in Jamaica last week with my husband, who was attending a continuing education conference. Every morning I started the day with coffee and some travel journaling.
I started off with some exercises in painting water from Gordon MacKay's book, "The Watercolorist's Essential Notebook - Landscapes."
Then on to painting en plein air. I'm no Gauguin, but I had a great time. Locals on staff came over and started conversations with me while I was painting, very nice way to meet people. They were all very encouraging, too.
